I often get asked, "why another boy, why more children?" It is not an easy thing to explain, I usually just say "why not?".
So here is the longer answer. We met 6 year old Phillip Fuhe Oliver Schettler on his adoption day, Dec 10, 2007, and it was a awesome day. Phillip was a shy, smart, broken-hearted son who was so eager to just get a chance to live in a family. I remember how amazing, how much I instantly loved him, like a unborn child, I had loved him since our referral day 6 months before. This little ( very little) 6 year old boy was so brave, so trusting, so meant to be ours. Bryan reassured me, Bryan's faith never failed him.
I look at Phillip now and know that I am called to get him a little brother. If in my small way I can help a child, give another one hope, love and joy.
What have we ever done right to deserve this honor, this privelege? Why us, are we worthy of this miracle again? We pray ever night that Kai will come home and that we can be the parents he has always wanted. Once thing, no matter how hard it may seem somedays, we will always smile and we will remember all the "little brothers still in China" and hope that they to find a forever family.

Well, the flights were booked this week! We have 9 flights to Beijing, and 10 coming home. Yes, we know, we are a group, all by ourselves. But, we meet 15 other Canadian families when we arrive. We are the only folks from Manitoba.
So, Bryan is the guy in charge of organizing every one's entrance visas. Lots of fun........... not.
But, we remind ourselves,it will be all worth it, when we see little Kai smile!
As we wait we remind ovrselves;
I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you. John 14:18

A few more interesting facts about our son to be.
He is "not choosy about foods, and likes sweet food"! I that proves it, he is meant to be my son. He has "good living habits" and goes to bed by 8 PM. That also works for us.
Bryan loves the peace sign photo of Kai, and has been saluting him every night before bed. Kai has been on our screen saver since October, so we have had lots of time to bond with a picture!
